Covenant prayer

The covenant with Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, as interpreted by Muslim scholars, is pure monotheism and the exclusive worship of Allah. Here is what has been stated regarding the explanation and interpretation of this great word, which will save its adherent on the Day of Resurrection.

Written Prayer of the Covenant

O Allah, Lord of the Great Light, Lord of the Exalted Throne, and Lord of the Enclosed Sea

Covenant prayer

And the One who revealed the Torah, the Gospel, and the Psalms, and the Lord of the shade and the heat

Covenant prayer

and the One who revealed the Great Qur'an, and the Lord of the angels brought near to Him, the prophets, and the messengers,

Covenant prayer

O Allah, I ask You by Your noble Countenance, by the light of Your illuminating Countenance, and by Your eternal Kingdom,

Covenant prayer

O Ever-Living, O Self-Subsisting, I ask You by Your Name through which the heavens and the earth have been illuminated

Covenant prayer

And in Your name, by which the first and the last are made whole,

Covenant prayer

O Living One before all living things, O Living One after all living things, and O Living One when there is no living thing

Covenant prayer

O You who give life to the dead and cause the living to die, O Ever-Living One—there is no god but You,

Covenant prayer

O Allah, grant success to our Master, Imam al-Hadi, the Mahdi, the One who will rise up in Your cause (may Allah’s blessings be upon him and upon his pure forefathers).

Covenant prayer

On behalf of all believing men and women in the east and west of the earth, in its plains and mountains, on its land and in its seas

Covenant prayer

And for me and my parents, may there be prayers equal in weight to the Throne of God, the ink of His words, and all that His knowledge has counted and His Book has encompassed,

Covenant prayer

O Allah, on this morning and for as long as I live, I renew my pledge, covenant, and oath of allegiance to him, which I have placed upon my neck.

Covenant prayer

I will not turn away from her, nor will I ever leave her,

Covenant prayer

O Allah, make me one of his supporters and helpers, one who defends him, and one who hastens to him to fulfill his needs.

Covenant prayer

and those who obey His commands, defend Him, strive to fulfill His will, and are martyred in His service,

Covenant prayer

O Allah, if death—which You have decreed as an inevitable and inescapable fate for Your servants—stands between me and him,

Covenant prayer

So bring me out of my grave, wrapped in my shroud, brandishing my sword, unsheathing my spear, answering the call of the caller in the present and the hereafter,

Covenant prayer

O Allah, show me the wise countenance and the praiseworthy forehead, and let my gaze rest upon him.

Covenant prayer

And hasten his relief, ease his way out, broaden his path, guide me along his path, carry out His command, and strengthen his resolve,

Covenant prayer

O Allah, bless Your lands through him and give life to Your servants through him, for You have said—and Your words are true—:

Covenant prayer

Corruption has appeared on land and at sea because of what people's own hands have wrought

Covenant prayer

O Allah, reveal to us Your friend and the son of Your Prophet’s daughter, who is named after Your Messenger

Covenant prayer

So that whenever he encounters any falsehood, he will tear it apart and uphold the truth and bring it to fruition,

Covenant prayer

O God, make him a source of comfort for Your oppressed servants and a helper for those who find no helper other than You.

Covenant prayer

And to restore the provisions of Your Book that have been set aside, and to uphold the principles of Your religion and the Sunnah of Your Prophet (peace be upon him and his family),

Covenant prayer

O God, make him one of those whom You have protected from the harm of the aggressors

Covenant prayer

O Allah, bring joy to Your Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) by granting him and those who followed him in his call the blessing of seeing him.

Covenant prayer

And have mercy on our helplessness after him. O Allah, lift this distress from this nation through his presence.

Covenant prayer

And hasten his appearance for us; for they see him as distant, but we see him as near, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

Covenant prayer

Hurry, hurry, O my Lord, O Master of Time.

He taps his right thigh three times and says
